PSA AND HANJIN TO RUN BUSAN TERMINAL
KOREA'S Busan Port Authority says it has chosen a consortium of the PSA and Hanjin Transportation as the operator of the three berths (Phase 1-1) at New Port which were bought earlier from Pusan Newport Co. A rival bid had been mounted by Korea Express.
A statement says: “The BPA carefully reviewed the two proposals and evaluated them according to the set guidelines, which took into account several factors including proposed leasing fees, ability to attract cargo, company track record and stability, and plans to contribute to the future development of Busan Port. The BPA was pleased to announce its final decision on August 26th, awarding the PSA and Hanjin Transportation consortium the operating rights to Phase 1-1.
